“Today the Virgin is the foreshadowing of the pleasure of God, and the beginning of the preaching of the salvation of mankind. Thou hast appeared in the Temple of God openly and hast gone before, preaching Christ to all. Let us shout with one thrilling voice, saying: Rejoice, O thou who art the fulfillment of the Creator’s dispensation.”
Dear to Christ the members of St. George,
Happy Feast Day of the Entrance of the Mother of God to the Temple.
I will be away to see my children from November 23rd to the 29th. I will be in church on December 13th. I will be available after the 30th of November by phone only. Fr. Iskander will be filling in for me for both the 29th and December 6th.
There will be NO Vespers on the following three Saturdays the 28th, the 5th, and the 12th.
There will be no article and message from me next week. Bible Study next Thursday the 27th will be cancelled.
On December 6th in the evening, the Sunday School children will have a zoom celebration for the Feast of St. Nicholas.
If you like to donate for the Christmas card, please see the ushers. December 13th is the deadline.
In the Gospel of today we read: ” God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul is required of you; and the things you have prepared, whose will they be?’ During this time of preparation for the Nativity of Christ, we prepare for the birth of Christ through fasting, almsgiving, prayer, but the most important we go to confession.
Pray for my safe travel during this difficult time. I can’t wait until I am back with you all around the Lord Table.
In Christ our savior,
