“Brethren, be watchful, stand firm in your faith, be courageous, and be strong. Let all that you do be done in love.”
Dear brothers and sisters the members of the vineyard of God at St. George,
The Apostle Paul in his epistle this Sunday exhort us to be watchful, to stand firm in the Orthodox Faith, to live our Christian Orthodox Faith in our society today. In order to do that we need to be courageous, strong, and love God with our whole heart. May our Lord through His Grace keep our Church of St. George watchful over the Faith delivered to the Saints and handed over to us the members of St. George pure and unchanged.
Monday September 7th starting at 6:30 PM we will celebrate the Feast of the Birth of the Theotokos with Orthros followed by the Divine Liturgy.
Next Sunday the 13th of September we will celebrate the Feast of the Elevation of the Cross. I will bless the children at the end of the Liturgy for the new school year.
Someone said what am I benefiting from St. George? What does St. George gives to me? God blessing comes to us through St. George church. We receive the sacraments especially the Body and Blood of Christ which no monetary amount can be put on it. Without our church of St. George how can we attain salvation, sanctification, and life eternal. The benefits we get from being members of St. George has no monetary price on this earth but gives us Life Eternal. God is the one who planted the “vineyard” of St. George. He wants us to give fruits, He will come back asking us for the spiritual fruits from this vineyard. He is going to ask each of us what we have done to produce fruits.
Jesus is the cornerstone let us not reject Him like the workers did in the parable but accept Him because He is “the head of the corner; this was the Lord’s doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes”. I will be waiting for you this Sunday at the “Vineyard of St. George” to pray together.
